<abstract xml:lang="ru">

      <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">

The article was prepared as part of the research «Psychology of economic behavior of a person in a virtual environment». It is of an overview nature and is written in order to study a foreign approach to determining economic behavioral patterns of a person in a virtual environment. The trend towards the transition from reality to virtuality is not only changing the course of social life, but also the landscape of economic activity, changing the paradigm of consumer behavior in general. The article highlights some scientific theories that foreign researchers rely on to describe personality behavior in a virtual environment; the factors influencing behavioral patterns in the virtual world are also identified. Some features of the virtual world are outlined, including immersiveness, personalization, and interactivity. The hypothesis that people's behavior in the real world positively correlates with the behavior of their avatars in a virtual environment has found its scientific confirmation. That is, virtual economic behavior corresponds to models of the real world and the way people behave in the real world, there is something informative about how they will behave in the virtual. It is noted that in further investigation of the problem of behavioral patterns in virtuality, the attention of the scientific community should be directed to the influence of unconscious human reactions, the balance of time spent in the virtual world in relation to real life, as well as the issue of abuse in cyberspace.
