Настоящая статья представляет научно-методический анализ применения метода Case Study в контексте методической подготовки будущих учителей иностранного языка. Авторы обращают внимание на важность компетентностного подхода в современной образовательной парадигме и выделяют потенциал метода Case Study для модернизации профессиональной подготовки педагогов в области иноязычного образования. Авторы фокусируют внимание на представлении Case Study как инновационного приема для итогового контроля по дисциплине «Методика обучения иностранным языкам». Многолетний опыт работы позволил оценить педагогические возможности метода кейсов в качестве эффективного приема контроля сформированных профессиональных компетенций будущих учителей, определить этапы и алгоритм выполнения Case Study на экзамене: изучение кейса, определение проблемы и ее методический анализ, поиск решения проблемы, представление собственного решения, интерпретация и переосмысление кейса, дискуссия с экзаменатором. Авторы полагают, что в результате применения кейсов на данном этапе учебного процесса планирование уроков иностранного языка становится более и осмысленным и результативным. Методы исследования, использованные авторами, включают изучение научной, педагогической литературы, практическое моделирование учебного процесса, пробное обучение, научное наблюдение и беседу с обучающимися. Авторами акцентируется, что применение Case Study приобретает особую значимость для студентов благодаря ценностно-мотивационной составляющей и способствует у них развитию ценностных ориентаций, избирательного отношения к деятельности и определяет профессионально-методическую направленность личности.
This article presents a scientific and methodological analysis of the use of the Case Study method in the context of methodological training of future foreign language teachers. The authors draw attention to the importance of the competency-based approach in the modern educational paradigm and highlight the potential of the Case Study method for modernizing the professional training of teachers in the field of foreign language education. The authors focus on presenting Case Study as an innovative technique for summative assessment in the discipline «Methods of teaching foreign languages». Many years of work experience has made it possible to evaluate the pedagogical capabilities of the Case Study method as an effective method of monitoring the developed professional competencies of future teachers, to determine the stages and algorithm for performing Case Study in the exam: studying a case, defining a problem and its methodological analysis, searching for a solution to the problem, presenting one’s own solution, interpretation and rethinking the case, a discussion with the examiner. The authors believe that as a result of using cases at this stage of the educational process, planning foreign language lessons becomes more meaningful and effective. The research methods used by the authors include the study of scientific and pedagogical literature, practical modeling of the educational process, trial training, scientific observation and conversation with students. The authors emphasize that the use of Case Study acquires special significance for students due to the value-motivational component and contributes to their development of value orientations, selective attitude to activity and determines the professional and methodological orientation of the individual.
