В статье рассматривается вопрос о роли художественных текстов для чтения на иностранном языке в практике обучении профессиональной коммуникации. Актуальность данной работы состоит в том, что к уровню компетентности современного специалиста предъявляются требования, обусловленные инновационными процессами, происходящими в разных сферах жизни современного общества. Современный момент определил изменение роли иностранного языка и его освоение характеризуется многоаспектностью целевых установок. Цель данной статьи обосновать необходимость использования художественных текстов при обучении чтению как ресурса страноведческого и аутентичного лингвистического материала в формировании языковой компетенции и правильного речевого поведения узкопрофильных специалистов. Подробный анализ научных публикаций показал, что чтение художественных текстов является базисом обучения, однако уровень языковой подготовки специалистов отстает от ожиданий. В связи с этим наметилось усиление научных дискуссий о необходимости включения материалов художественного жанра в процесс обучения иностранным языкам в специальных целях. Автором данной работы описаны критерии подбора художественной прозы (неадаптированные тексты англо-американских авторов; краткие формы; синхронизация). Для соблюдения баланса между запросами современной молодежи к контенту литературных произведений и образцами общепризнанной классической литературы мы обращаемся к творчеству англо-американских писателей рубежа XIX–XX столетий. Осуществляется попытка передать опыт обучения чтению прозы в виде описания модели подбора текстов и их обработки для аудиторной работы как обучающий ресурс, способствующий развитию когнитивных процессов восприятия, понимания и интерпретации текстов и дальнейшего освоения аутентичного языка высокого порядка.
The article discusses the role of English literary texts for reading in teaching for the professional communication. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that the competence level of specialist of today is subject to requirements due to innovative processes taking place in various spheres of the global world. The current time has determined the change in the role of a foreign language. Its development is characterized by the multidimensional nature of the target settings. The purpose of the article is to confirm the need to use fiction texts in teaching reading as a resource of regional and authentic linguistic material in building the language competence and correct speech behavior of specific-profile specialists. A detailed analysis of academic publications has shown that reading fiction texts is the basis of learning, but the level of language education lags behind expectations. In this regard, there has been an intensification of academic speculations about the necessity to get the materials of the artistic genre integrated into the process of teaching foreign languages for specific purposes. The author of this work describes the criteria for the selection of fiction (authentic texts by Anglo-American authors; short forms; synchronization). In order to maintain a balance between the demands of modern youth for the content of literary works and samples of generally recognized classical literature, we address the short stories by British and American writers of the turn of the XIX–XX centuries. An attempt is being made to convey the experience of teaching to read prose in the form of a model for selecting texts and processing them for classroom activity as a learning resource. It is believed that implementation of fiction reading contributes to the development of cognitive processes of perception, understanding and interpretation of texts and further development of an authentic language proficiency for professional communication.
