<abstract xml:lang="ru">

Cantidad-Numer interference task, Corsi

      <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">

The article reflects the results of a study of the features of emotion recognition in patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. The relevance of the study is due to a number of unresolved issues regarding factors affecting emotion recognition, as well as the lack of domestic publications on this topic, despite the fact that emotion recognition is an important aspect of cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis with potential prognostic significance for social functioning as an important condition for establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships. The study involved 45 respondents: 20 with a diagnosis of Multiple sclerosis and 25 without neurological diseases. The «Ekman Faces» test was used as the main technique. To identify the factors affecting the recognition of emotions, the following tools were used: «The Brief Neuropsychological Cognitive Examination» (BNCE), Stroop test, Cantidad-Number interference task, Corsi Block-tapping Test, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), verbal fluency test (semantic and phonemic), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), 20-Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20). It was revealed that patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis spend less time on emotion recognition, along with this, there is a decrease in the accuracy of emotion recognition, mainly anger. With an increase in cognitive deficits, a decrease in the accuracy of fear recognition is revealed. The speed of emotion recognition finds connections with the peculiarities of cognitive functions (quasi-spatial factor), the severity of anxiety symptoms and difficulties in identifying feelings, as well as with the speed indicator of inhibitory control. The statistically significant influence of the parameters of the cognitive sphere (total BNCE score, total scores for the first and second parts), the severity of alexithymia, as well as one of its components (externally oriented thinking), verbal fluency on the accuracy of emotion recognition was shown. The noted features may be associated with the subcortical-frontal pattern of disorders in multiple sclerosis. Thus, potential predictors of emotion recognition disorders were identified: features of the cognitive and emotional spheres, executive functions, the severity of alexithymia.
