<abstract xml:lang="ru">

The article examines the features of the current state of primary musical education for children in the People's Republic of China. Based on the analysis of official documents, statistical data and results of sociological research, key trends in pedagogical practice are identified, the specifics of methodological approaches and didactic materials are characterized. The author presents a comprehensive analysis of state policy in the field of music education, material and technical support of the educational process, and the system of teacher training. It has been established that music education contributes to the comprehensive development of children, the formation of their national identity and creative abilities. The article shows that the coverage of children with primary music education in China reached 95,4 % by 2023, however, there is a noticeable lag of rural schools from urban ones in terms of material and technical equipment. Problems of insufficient representation of national musical instruments in educational programs and the need for wider use of innovative pedagogical technologies have been identified. The research results substantiate the expediency of further development of the primary music education system based on an organic combination of national traditions and modern world teaching methods.
