<abstract xml:lang="ru">

One of the most important topics in children's practical psychology is the study of executive functions, their impact on the development of the child, his successful academic education at school. The main types of executive functions are inhibitory control (self-control of one's behavior), working memory and cognitive flexibility. The phenomenon of interference is a decrease in performance indicators after completing a task. It has been a popular subject of research in the field of experimental psychology for many years. Working memory is involved in the development of cognitive processes, and is one of the important cognitive functions. The study of the psychological mechanisms of forgetting and teaching children is an important issue in practical child psychology. The purpose of this study is a comparative analysis of the mechanisms of working memory in children aged 3 to 12 years. The study involved 79 children aged 3 to 12 years. We divided them into age groups: 1st group from 3 to 5 years, 2nd group from 6 to 7 years, 3rd group from 8 to 9 years, 4th group from 10 to 12 years. We conducted a comparative analysis of the volume of working memory in children (in units of memorized material) and a comparative analysis of the mechanisms of forgetting and learning in children aged 3 to 12 years. To evaluate the mechanisms of working memory, a computerized method of memorizing visually presented stimuli was used (O.M. Razumnikova). Our results suggest that forgetting is present in all age groups, and the group of older children (from 10 to 12 years old) significantly increases learning.
