<abstract xml:lang="ru">

The article presents the results of an experimental eyetracking study. The relevance is determined by the increasing number of schoolchildren with learning difficulties and speech disorders. In the course of the study, younger schoolchildren with learning difficulties were asked to come up with a story based on a sequence of three pictures — visual narrative. The children looked at the pictures on the monitor screen and talked at the same time. The story was recorded on a voice recorder, and eye movements were recorded by an eyetracker. After analyzing the results, the subjects were divided into two groups. More than half of the children aged 7–10 could not come up with a coherent story. In these children, the features of gaze fixations and saccades were revealed. There is no significant relationship between the age of the subjects and the quality of the story. It was revealed that children from the successful group more often moved their gaze between the pictures, returning their gaze to the first picture. This was part of an effective image interpretation strategy. Difficulties in composing the story of children of the second group may be both a result of the cognitive characteristics of the subjects, and the result of the fact that many modern children have limited experience of looking at pictures and telling stories.
