Статья посвящена определению роли иностранных языков в современном российском обществе, а также исследованию некоторых современных методов обучения, направленных на эффективное формирование навыков общения в повседневной жизни и профессиональной сфере у обучающихся. В работе рассматриваются исторические предпосылки интереса россиян к английскому языку, начиная с эпохи Петра I и заканчивая современностью. Особое внимание уделено влиянию глобализации и технологического прогресса на повышение востребованности англоязычной компетенции в профессиональной деятельности, особенно в IT-индустрии. В статье рассматриваются различные методики обучения. Автор подчеркивает важность включения интерактивных форм, таких как ролевые игры и диалоги, а также аудиовизуальных материалов в процесс обучения для повышения эффективности преподавания иностранных языков. Также в статье предлагается методика проектного обучения английскому языку как эффективный инструмент формирования практических языковых навыков у студентов. Основное внимание уделяется анализу эффективности проектного метода в контексте современного образования, где особое значение приобретает интеграция искусственного интеллекта в образовательный процесс. Автор показывает, как проектная деятельность помогает развитию не только языковых компетенций, но и формированию критического мышления, то есть способностям не только усваивать новые данные, но и проверять их в различных источниках, анализировать, осмысливать теоретические положения и применять их на практике, а также проектная деятельность способствует навыкам работы в команде. Результаты исследования подтверждаются показателями опросов, проведенных автором статьи среди студентов IT-направления Финансового университета при Правительстве РФ. В статье обосновывается мысль о том, что традиционные и инновационные методы преподавания следует объединять, принимая во внимание развитие цифровых технологий, а также индивидуальные потребности учащихся.
The article is devoted to the definition of the role of foreign languages in modern Russian society, as well as the study of some modern teaching methods aimed at the effective formation of communication skills in everyday life and the professional sphere of students. The paper examines the historical background of Russians' interest in the English language, from the era of Peter the Great to the present. Particular attention is paid to the impact of globalization and technological progress on increasing the demand for English-language competence in professional activities, especially in the IT industry. The article discusses various teaching methods. The author emphasizes the importance of including interactive forms such as role-playing games and dialogues, as well as audiovisual materials in the learning process to improve the effectiveness of foreign language teaching. The article also proposes a methodology of project-based English language teaching as an effective tool for the formation of practical language skills among students. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the effectiveness of the project method in the context of modern education, where the integration of artificial intelligence into the educational process is of particular importance. The author shows how project activities help to develop not only language competencies, but also the formation of critical thinking, that is, the ability not only to assimilate new data, but also to check them in various sources, analyze, comprehend theoretical provisions and apply them in practice, as well as project activities contribute to teamwork skills. The results of the study are confirmed by the indicators of surveys conducted by the author of the article among IT students of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The article substantiates the idea that traditional and innovative teaching methods should be combined, taking into account the development of digital technologies, as well as the individual needs of students.
