Благополучие личности — одна из самых востребованных тем социально-гуманитарных наук, так как это явление зависит от внешних (социально-экономических, общественных, социокультурных и др.) условий, и в тоже время детерминируется внутренними личностными характеристиками. Автором представлен анализ работ, посвященных наименее изученной внешней детерминации благополучия личности. В статье отмечается, что в российской психологии это явление считается многомерным, существует много авторских подходов к изучению благополучия личности, где за данной дефиницией могут пониматься разные психологические явления. Влияние внешних условий на благополучие личности не получило должного внимания в этих работах. Анализируются также достоинства и недостатки подхода, в большей степени свойственного западным ученым, основывающимся на философских представлениях о благополучии личности. В нем выделяются два близких, но нетождественных понятия — психологическое благополучие и субъективное благополучие, либо допускается их сочетание. При этом уделяется достаточное внимание их социальной детерминации. Однако автор отмечает в качестве оптимального при исследовании внешних детерминант благополучия личности — анализ временных перспектив, или биографическое исследование. Оно более трудоемкое, но его преимущества заключаются в том, что такой подход позволяет отнестись к благополучию личности как к экзистенциальному явлению, сопровождающему человека на протяжении всей его жизни, а также изучить благополучие людей, оказавшихся по разным причинам в новой социальной ситуации, в том числе в другой стране (иммигрантов, вынужденных переселенцев, студентов, получающих образование за рубежом и др.). В таком случае анализ благополучия личности до и после вхождения в другую социокультурную среду позволяет сравнить насколько был благополучен человек в своей и насколько он благополучен в иной культуре, понять его переживания в настоящем, тем самым предотвратить возможные серьезные личностные проблемы, связанные с этой ситуацией.

Personal well-being is one of the most popular topics in the social sciences and humanities, since this phenomenon depends on external (socio-economic, social, socio-cultural, etc.) conditions, and at the same time, it is determined by internal personal characteristics. The author presents an analysis of works devoted to the least studied external determination of personal well-being. The article notes that in Russian psychology this phenomenon is considered multidimensional, there are many author's approaches to the study of personal well-being, where different psychological phenomena can be understood behind this definition. The influence of external conditions on the well-being of the individual has not received due attention in these works. The advantages and disadvantages of the approach, which is more typical of Western scientists based on philosophical ideas about the well-being of the individual, are also analyzed. It distinguishes two close but non-identical concepts — psychological well-being and subjective well-being, or a combination of them is allowed. At the same time, sufficient attention is paid to their social determination. However, the author notes that the analysis of time prospects, or biographical research, is optimal in the study of external determinants of personal well-being. It is more time-consuming, but its advantages are that such an approach allows us to treat the well-being of an individual as an existential phenomenon that accompanies a person throughout his life, as well as to study the well-being of people who find themselves for various reasons in a new social situation, including in another country (immigrants, internally displaced persons, students those who receive education abroad, etc.). In this case, the analysis of the well-being of a person before and after entering another socio-cultural environment allows you to compare how well a person was in his own and how well he was in another culture, to understand his experiences in the present, thereby preventing possible serious personal problems associated with this situation
